Conference on the history of vaccination in Touraine
A conference proposed by Maisons Paysannes de Touraine followed by a cocktail, on Friday 21 November 2025 at 7pm.



Conference theme
Professor Watier, a passionate and fascinating man, will take you on a timeless journey with a talk full of anecdotes. You'll also be able to take a stroll around Touraine, visiting the places inhabited by these doctor-researchers.
speaker Hervé Watier
A hospital practitioner specialising in immunology and biopharmacy, he has recognised expertise in the development of therapeutic antibodies. Coordinator of LaBex MAblmprove (laboratory of excellence, Tours and Montpellier).
It leads innovative projects to optimise strategies for respiratory pathologies.
A researcher at Inserm U1 100, he combines basic research with clinical applications to advance translational medicine.
He is a member of numerous learned societies, including the Académie de Touraine and the Société Archéologique de Touraine. So it's hardly surprising that his research interests include the history of immunology and the history of doctors in Touraine during the contemporary period.
In short, an opportunity for you to listen to an important figure from Touraine and a leading figure from the medical world.
Conference venue
This conference will take place at Manoir de la Mazeraie in Joué-les-Tours, at the home of our administrator Alexia Triquet-Choisne. It's a lovely place to have a good time and end the evening (and the year) with a glass of wine. cocktail reception with the wine tasting local of Alexia.
